How much does it cost to play RISE Flag Football?

*League fees vary by region, but in Barrie:

Early Bird Registration: $225 (ends July 7th)

Regular Registration: $250

Late Registration: $275 (begins August 11th) *please note- late registrants may experience slight delays in their uniform delivery*


Why should my child play flag football?

Flag football is one of the fastest growing youth sports across the country. With a multitude of leagues in Ontario and British Columbia, RISE flag football has been growing the game of flag football with the help of its partnership with Under Armour.  With minimal equipment required (lower costs than many sports), reduced risk of injury, and no experience required, flag football is the ideal sport for youths looking to broaden their athletic capabilities while having a great deal of fun. If your child has an interest in playing tackle football in the future, RISE flag football is a great place to develop core football skills at an early age. 


What does a RISE Flag Football player need to wear for games?

All players will receive an Under Armour RISE Flag Football jersey and shorts (no pockets) which they will wear for games. All players are required to wear a mouthguard which you will need to purchase on your own.


Are practices mandated?

There are no mandated practices for RISE Flag Football. On game nights, there will be areas to practice or warm-up prior to the game.


Who will coach my RISE Flag Football team?

All RISE Flag Football coaches are volunteer parents/family members or volunteer youth community coaches. If you have an interest in coaching your child, we’d love to have you.


What is the time commitment for my child to play in a RISE Flag Football league?

The best part about RISE Flag Football is the minimum time commitment. Other than once-a-week game days/nights, there is no other time commitment for players.


Why is 6v6 the best format to play flag football?

In traditional American football, teams have five (5) eligible receivers plus a quarterback which equals six (6) players involved in the passing game. The 6v6 format provides a competitive game with the opportunity for QBs and other offensive positions to experience traditional defensive coverages.


My child already plays another competitive/travel sport –can they do this as well?

Yes! The once-a-week structure of RISE Flag Football provides the opportunity for multisport athletes to try something new or play with their school/neighborhood friends.
